Their multi-channel suite of apps and websites fulfills millions of orders across the globe using a highly efficient production model. Privately held and operating for over 20 years, their business is rapidly expanding and looking for a highly qualified General Counsel to lead the legal efforts and support the company's future growth.
Los Angeles, CA -3 days onsite, 2 remote
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations of the legal department, managing both internal legal staff and external counsel.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and special projects.
- Oversee compliance across key areas including privacy (domestic and international), employment, IP, and Marketing
- Negotiate, draft, review, and interpret a wide range of commercial agreements such as licenses, service contracts, marketing deals, and leases.
- Manage legal aspects of M&A and corporate transactions, including due diligence and contract negotiation.
- Supervise global litigation and dispute resolution efforts.
- Oversee patents and trademarks across domestic and international markets.
- Serve as corporate secretary, ensuring governance and regulatory obligations are met.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in California or another U.S. jurisdiction.
- Over 15 years of progressive legal experience, combining both law firm and corporate in-house roles.
- Deep expertise in mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and litigation strategy.
