About the Role
We are a leading national provider of technical services to the electric utility, power generation, industrial, renewable, and energy sectors. We offer planning and system studies, design and engineering, maintenance and testing, program management, construction, and turnkey EPC projects.
Position Overview
In collaboration with management, this role provides guidance and support on a wide range of legal matters. The primary focus will be reviewing and negotiating complex EPC contracts for projects in the electric power and related industries-from the proposal phase through project execution. Additional responsibilities include supporting negotiations and renewals of Master Service Agreements, purchasing agreements, and other ancillary agreements.
This position is based in Houston, Texas and reports to the General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate customer contracts (EPC, Design-Build, Professional Services Agreements, MSAs, etc.).
- Assist Sales, Supply Chain/Procurement, and Operations teams with subcontractor and vendor agreements.
- Provide contract support during project execution, including change orders.
- Participate in contract negotiations, legal proceedings, and site visits as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience negotiating contracts in the construction industry.
- EPC project experience in the electric power sector (transmission and distribution) strongly preferred.
- Experience with joint venture agreements is a plus.
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law.
