Director of Legal - Global Technology Company
A fast-growing, AI-driven technology company is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Director of Legal to build and lead its legal function in the U.S. This is an exciting opportunity for a business-minded legal leader to shape a legal function from the ground up and play a key role in enabling growth and innovation. This role has the ability to sit fully remote out of the East Coast.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish and scale the U.S. legal function
* Design and implement legal systems, processes, and compliance frameworks
* Lead commercial legal matters, including contracts, bidding, and regulatory issues
* Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and business units
* Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing legal team
* Integrate AI and automation into legal workflows to drive efficiency
* Navigate legal considerations in emerging technologies and digital transformation
* Support cross-border operations and international expansion initiatives
Requirements:
* JD from an accredited law school; admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
* Combination of both private practice and in-house experience, ideally at a start-up or high growth environment
* Started career in a law firm, with transition into in-house roles in tech or business environments
* Familiarity with telecommunications is a plus
* Strong background in commercial contracts, procurement, and regulatory compliance
* Business-first mindset with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach
* Entrepreneurial, growth-oriented, and comfortable operating in a lean, global structure
