A fast-growing energy company is seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to join its legal team in Denver. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of energy transactions, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure development in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.
About the Role
As Legal Counsel, you'll play a key role in supporting the company's supply team. You'll work cross-functionally to provide legal guidance on energy procurement, project development, and regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including PPAs, interconnection, and EPC contracts
- Provide legal support throughout deal negotiation and execution
- Advise on the development of new generating resources
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions
- Conduct legal research and monitor developments in energy markets
- Manage outside counsel and support internal policy development
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 3+ years of legal experience in energy, regulatory, or commercial transactions
- Active Colorado bar license or eligibility for single-client counsel certification
- Understanding of energy law, contract negotiation, and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
