Contract Specialist
A global manufacturer in the vacuum pump, compressor, and blower industry is seeking a Contract Specialist to join its headquarters team in Virginia Beach, VA. This company produces advanced vacuum and compressor technology for industrial applications.
The Contract Specialist will support the full contract lifecycle and collaborate with teams across the organization, including Sales, Service, Supply Chain, Finance, and other operational groups.
About the Role
The Contract Specialist will review and manage contracts, ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements, and interface directly with internal teams, customers, and vendors. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and experience working with both commercial and government contracts are important.
Key Responsibilities
- Summarize contract terms and confirm compliance with approval policies.
- Communicate contract updates, changes, and relevant information to stakeholders.
- Review contracts, identify risks, suggest revisions, and support negotiations.
- Support both commercial and government contracting activities.
- Maintain contract files, audit documentation, and track progress from request to execution.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout all contract phases.
- Assist with improving template language and internal contract processes.
- Ensure employees understand contract requirements.
- Contribute to special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (Business Administration preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in contract negotiation, business law, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of contract law and legal requirements.
- Experience with redlining and contract review.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFAR/CFR regulations is helpful.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/CRM experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% domestically or internationally.
- Must have current U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship available).
- Must meet company PPE and physical requirements.
