Complex Trial Associate
A leading international law firm is seeking an Attorney to support its Trial & Defense practice, focusing on liability defense and coverage litigation. The practice handles a wide range of matters, including catastrophic injury, bodily injury, complex commercial litigation, premises liability, bad faith and fraud, UM/UIM claims, class actions, mass torts, and trucking and transportation cases.
The ideal candidate will have strong litigation and trial experience, demonstrated initiative, and exceptional organizational skills, along with superior oral advocacy, research, and writing abilities.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Analyze insurance policies, draft coverage opinions, and provide strategic coverage advice to clients
- Conduct complex legal research and prepare detailed memoranda
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents
- Attend and participate in depositions, hearings, and mediations as needed
Essential Skills & Experience
- Active license to practice law in Illinois
- Minimum of 3-6 years of litigation experience
- Strong academic credentials
- Exceptional legal writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to act quickly and decisively
