Commercial Litigation Senior Associate / Senior Counsel - Southern Californa
A nationally recognized law firm with a strong California presence is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation attorney to join its growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigator to handle sophisticated, high-stakes disputes for national and regional clients across a wide range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, transportation, and consumer products.
The ideal candidate will have 6-10+ years of complex commercial litigation experience, with meaningful responsibility handling matters from inception through resolution. The role offers substantial courtroom exposure, client-facing responsibility, and the opportunity to work closely with partners on strategy, case management, and trial preparation. Hybrid flexibility is available depending on experience and office location.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all phases of complex commercial litigation in state and federal court, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Serve as firm presence at hearings, conferences, arbitrations, and procedural matters.
- Manage cases independently or collaboratively, including supervising junior attorneys and coordinating with clients.
- Conduct factual investigations, develop litigation strategy, and participate in settlement negotiations.
- Draft and argue dispositive motions and key discovery motions.
- Advise clients on risk, strategy, and dispute mitigation throughout the life of a case.
Key Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Active membership in the California State Bar and admission to California state and federal courts.
- 6-10+ years of experience in complex commercial or civil litigation.
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills, with comfort appearing in court.
- Experience with arbitrations, administrative proceedings, or industry‑specific litigation is a plus but not required.
- Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently while maintaining high-quality work product.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: Approximately $200,000 to $280,000, depending on experience, seniority, and firm alignment.
