Commercial Litigation Attorney
A reputable Houston-based client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic Houston office. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution, including trial. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of litigation experience, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be eager to take on significant responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage commercial litigation cases from initial filing through trial or settlement.
- Draft and argue motions, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and motions to compel.
- Prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, legal briefs, and appellate filings.
- Represent clients in court hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, and administrative proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues across state and federal jurisdictions.
- Participate in administrative hearings before agencies such as OSHA, the Texas Medical Board, and CMS.
- Collaborate with clients, experts, and internal teams to develop case strategies and deliver results.
Qualifications:
- Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience at a regional, national, or highly regarded local firm or in-house legal department.
- Proven success in complex commercial litigation, including trial and appellate work.
- At least 3 years of courtroom experience, including leading evidentiary hearings and depositions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead Temporary Injunction and TRO hearings.
- Experience handling mediations and negotiating settlements.
- Strong command of both state and federal court procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of professionalism and maturity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
