Summary

A leading Mid-West law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal to join its Corporate Services Group. This role supports attorneys throughout all phases of estate and trust administration, including drafting documents, managing client cases, and ensuring compliance with deadlines. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet or exceed a billable hour model.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and review legal documents, including powers of attorney, wills, trusts, and probate pleadings.
  • Maintain financial records for trusts, perform trust accountings, and audit accounts.
  • Oversee probate filings and manage key deadlines in the case management system.
  • Prepare and review gift tax returns, estate tax returns, and fiduciary income tax returns.
  • Assist with funding and administration of revocable and irrevocable trusts.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, financial advisors, and accountants.
  • Conduct legal research related to regulatory requirements and court proceedings.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Paralegal certificate or degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in Trusts & Estates.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree in paralegal studies.
  • Experience in corporate and real estate matters.
  • Familiarity with tax and trust accounting software.
