A leading and growing auto insurance organization is seeking a Senior Claims Attorney to join its legal team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in auto insurance coverage, strong analytical judgment, and experience advising on bodily injury and material damage claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance on complex auto liability and material damage coverage issues across multiple jurisdictions.
- Deliver timely, well‑reasoned coverage opinions and support claims teams with exposure analysis and resolution strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address extra‑contractual liability, regulatory compliance considerations, and litigation risk.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and support litigation involving high‑severity or complex claims.
- Develop and deliver training materials for claims staff and monitor emerging legal and regulatory developments in the auto insurance space.
Required Skills
- JD degree and 6+ years of experience in insurance coverage, defense, or claims‑focused legal roles.
- Strong understanding of non‑standard auto insurance, bodily injury, and material damage claims.
- Resides and holds an active bar membership in the State of California.
- Expertise in insurance laws across California, Arizona, and Texas is highly beneficial.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to senior business and claims leaders.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
