Senior Workers' Compensation Attorney
A mid-size, leading property & casualty insurer is looking to add a Senior Worker's Compensation Attorney to handle matters in the state of California. This role will drive strong, results-focused defense strategies in workers' compensation matters from day one-owning a full caseload, partnering closely with clients, and delivering efficient, cost-effective resolutions. This role blends sharp litigation skills with strategic thinking, offering the opportunity to advocate in hearings and trials while building trusted relationships and producing high-quality, business-minded legal outcomes.
- Oversee and manage a portfolio of workers' compensation matters from initial assignment through resolution
- Partner with clients and claims personnel to evaluate cases and pursue timely, cost-effective outcomes
- Formulate case strategies, including the development of legal arguments, defenses, and case theories
- Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents; conduct comprehensive discovery and legal analysis
- Represent clients in depositions, administrative hearings, conferences, and trials
- Appear before applicable boards or tribunals as required, including travel when necessary
Core Qualifications
- At least four years of relevant litigation experience
- Active license to practice law in the state of California
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain strict confidentiality standards
- Demonstrated advocacy skills, with the ability to effectively represent and defend client interests
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain legal concepts to non-legal audiences
- Excellent organizational abilities, with a track record of managing multiple priorities efficiently
