A fast-growing and highly respected specialty insurance organization is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its legal team. What You'll Do
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor to business leaders across underwriting, product, and claims functions.
- Provide practical, business-focused counsel on insurance products, coverage structures, policy language, and risk-related matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of insurance and commercial agreements.
- Partner with stakeholders on the design, enhancement, and launch of specialty insurance products.
- Advise on regulatory and legal developments impacting insurance operations and product offerings.
- Collaborate across departments to identify emerging risks, strengthen policy language, and improve business processes.
- Support strategic initiatives, new market opportunities, and innovative insurance solutions.
- Deliver training and guidance to business teams on legal, regulatory, and industry developments.
What We're Looking For
- J.D. and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Experience gained within a commercial or specialty insurance carrier, law firm, MGA, reinsurer, or other insurance-focused organization.
- Strong background advising on insurance products, coverage matters, policy language, regulatory issues, and commercial transactions.
- Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives and provide practical, solution-oriented guidance.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable operating independently while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the organization.
