Labor and Employment Responsibilities
- Manage and defend employment-related administrative charges, including EEOC, state fair employment agencies, and other regulatory matters.
- Draft persuasive position statements, responses to agency inquiries, and supporting legal analyses.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour issues, and other employment-related claims.
- Advise clients on federal, state, and local employment laws and risk mitigation strategies.
- Represent employers during administrative proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
- Review and analyze personnel records, workplace policies, and employment practices to assess legal exposure.
- Collaborate with HR professionals and business leaders to develop compliant workplace practices.
- Monitor developments in labor and employment law and provide proactive legal guidance to clients.
- Maintain accurate case management records and meet all regulatory and client deadlines.
Labor and Employment Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active Bar license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 6+ years of labor and employment law experience, with a strong focus on EEOC matters and administrative charge defense.
- Demonstrated experience drafting EEOC position statements and managing agency investigations.
- Strong knowledge of federal employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and related state employment statutes.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analysis, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently in a remote work environment.
- Strong client counseling and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms and case management systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
