This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the transition towards sustainable energy solutions in Japan and beyond. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing corporate transactions, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic legal advice to support our mission of promoting sustainable energy.

  • Handle legal documentation processing, including drafting and negotiation.
  • Manage legal processes and ensure compliance with regulations and rules in the country.
  • Provide legal support for acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate transactions.
  • Utilize legal expertise to advise on various legal matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external firms to streamline legal processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, advising on legal risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide legal counsel on major business transactions, including reviewing and drafting relevant legal documents.
  • Manage and oversee complex legal services for the financing, development, acquisition, construction, and operation of energy projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conduct due diligence, contract negotiation, and risk assessment for energy project M&A transactions.
  • Participate in the drafting and development of company policies, procedures, and programs.Offer strategic legal advice to senior management on business decisions impacting energy initiatives.
  • Research and monitor legal issues to provide informed recommendations.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of Japanese law and industry regulations.
  • Assist in developing legal precedents and templates for consistent and streamlined workflow.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address legal risks and concerns that come up.
  • Contribute to the overall legal strategy and decision-making process.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to practice law in Japan (bengoshi) or another jurisdiction with relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in both Japanese and English is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of laws, regulations, and market trends in Japan.
