As their operations expand, they are seeking a seasoned Attorney to join their in-house legal team and provide strategic legal guidance across a wide range of matters.
Position Summary
The Attorney will serve as a key legal advisor to internal stakeholders, managing complex legal issues and supporting the company's regulatory, operational, and litigation needs. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a strong litigation background and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage litigation matters, including strategy development, case management, and coordination with outside counsel.
- Provide legal advice on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and corporate governance.
- Handle legal matters related to NEPA, FOIA, tort law, and claims management.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Advise business units on legal implications of operational decisions and policy development.
- Represent the company in administrative proceedings and regulatory matters.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Tennessee or eligibility for admission.
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a strong foundation in litigation.
- Experience with NEPA, FOIA, tort law, claims, or public utility law is highly desirable.
- Background in insurance defense or personal injury litigation is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
