Associate Counsel

Position Overview
We're seeking an Associate Counsel to join our legal team and support a broad range of legal matters in a fast-paced, remote-first startup environment. This role reports to the General Counsel/CPO and is integral to our business operations, partnering closely with revenue teams to facilitate high-value commercial agreements and drive strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, event sponsorships, licensing deals, consulting arrangements, and NDAs
- Oversee our consumer data preference platform, maintain privacy documentation, and contribute to privacy-related research and training materials
- Support corporate governance activities such as board meeting preparation, equity administration, and compliance tracking
- Collaborate with Finance and HR teams on legal matters related to operations and employee relations
- Continuously improve internal legal workflows to enhance efficiency and responsiveness
- Engage with external partners and clients to review terms of service and negotiate contract terms
- Occasional travel (approximately 10 days annually)
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution and active bar membership
- 2-5 years of legal experience in advertising, marketing, technology, or privacy law
- Strong background in contract drafting and negotiation
- Familiarity with consumer privacy regulations and frameworks
- Experience advising both internal stakeholders and external clients, including senior leadership
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements that enhance legal operations
- Excellent judgment, professionalism, and communication skills
- Track record of improving team responsiveness and cross-functional collaboration

Compensation
Estimated salary range: $130,000 - $150,000, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
