AML Analyst (m/f/d)
Our client is a commercial and retail bank based in Frankfurt, seeking out an AML Compliance Analyst who has experience handling the entire AML suite of topics - transaction monitoring, investigations, sanctions, SAR reporting. Legal backgrounds highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with all relevant banking and capital markets regulations, with a focus on the German Money Laundering Act (GwG) and other laws for preventing fraud and criminal offences.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory obligations and proactively prevent potential violations.
- Support the ongoing adaptation and optimisation of internal work instructions in line with MaRisk requirements.
- Track, analyse, and evaluate significant legal and regulatory developments affecting the institution.
- Contribute to designing, implementing, and maintaining effective processes and controls to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Act as a key contact for law enforcement agencies, the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) under Section 27 GwG, BaFin, and other relevant authorities in matters concerning money laundering under Section 43 GwG.
- Prepare and submit suspicious activity reports (SARs) in accordance with Section 43 GwG.
- Process and respond to information requests from law enforcement, supervisory bodies, the Bundesbank, BaFin, and other authorised authorities.
- Collaborate closely with Internal Audit and Risk Management on AML, CTF, and fraud‑prevention topics.
Candidate Profile
- Successfully completed degree in law, business administration, or a comparable qualification from a top university.
- Several years of professional experience in AML, compliance, or auditing within the corporate or investment banking.
- Strong knowledge of national and international regulatory standards applicable to banking and capital markets.
- Expertise in regulatory frameworks relevant to credit institutions (e.g., KWG, MaRisk, CRR).
- Self‑motivated, structured, and capable of working independently with a high degree of ownership.
- Excellent German and English skills; Turkish or French language skills are an advantage.
