The Role
They are seeking a Senior Compliance Specialist to become the company's first in‑house compliance hire. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role working directly with the Founder and Head of Growth. You will serve as the organization's FTC and FCRA subject matter expert, helping shape compliance strategy, operational processes, and risk management across the business.
This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, detail‑oriented, comfortable interpreting legal guidance, and excited about using AI to automate monitoring and risk detection.
What You'll Do
Review marketing funnels, product flows, and consumer‑facing experiences for regulatory and advertising compliance
Monitor customer service communications (calls, chats, emails) for compliance risks, including FCRA‑related triggers
Conduct advertising compliance reviews and flag potential risks in marketing materials
Track regulatory developments (FTC actions, state consumer protection laws, platform policy updates)
Translate legal guidance into clear internal policies, procedures, and actionable compliance steps
Investigate risk signals such as customer complaints, fraud patterns, chargebacks, and opt‑outs
Maintain compliance documentation and help build AI‑assisted systems that monitor and flag potential issues
Partner closely with leadership to shape compliance strategy and operational best practices
What You Bring
Background in legal, compliance, or regulatory roles (paralegal, compliance specialist, or similar)
Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills
High proficiency with AI tools and comfort using them to automate workflows
Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal oversight
Clear, concise communication and strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with online businesses, digital marketing compliance, or consumer‑facing tech
Familiarity with consumer protection frameworks (FTC, FCRA, and related regulations)
