About the Company
Our client is an established insurance company focused on life insurance, retirement planning, and wealth management solutions. The organization is seeking a seasoned commercial attorney to support enterprise-wide procurement, technology transactions, and strategic vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, software licensing, cloud services, technology services, outsourcing, data licensing, AI, and vendor contracts.
- Partner with Procurement, Information Security, Privacy, Compliance, Risk, and business stakeholders to support contracting initiatives.
- Provide guidance on privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance issues.
- Advise on legal and operational risks related to artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
- Develop contract templates, playbooks, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Support regulatory examinations, audits, and vendor risk management initiatives.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
- 5+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience focused on commercial contracting and technology transactions.
- Significant experience negotiating SaaS, cloud, software licensing, technology services, and procurement agreements.
- Strong knowledge of privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection laws.
- Experience advising highly regulated businesses, such as insurance, financial services, fintech, or healthcare organizations, is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-related legal and contractual issues is a plus.
