Real Estate Trial Attorney
A fast-growing California litigation firm is seeking an experienced Senior Trial Attorney to help expand its real estate litigation practice. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys handling complex property disputes, wants meaningful courtroom work, and is looking for a long-term leadership track within a collaborative, people-focused environment.
You will manage a diverse caseload involving real estate disputes such as quiet title, partition actions, nondisclosure and fraud claims, title and boundary issues, easements, specific performance, escrow disputes, and other real property conflicts. The firm is looking for someone capable of handling matters from early strategy through trial, with strong motion practice, deposition experience, and the ability to analyze real estate documents central to these disputes.
This is a high-impact role with clear growth potential. You'll initially work alongside senior litigators and gradually transition into managing your own team, supported by a dedicated paralegal and law clerk. The firm maintains a warm, client-centered culture with strong internal support, reasonable hours, and an emphasis on professional development without micromanagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead real estate litigation matters from intake through trial
- Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Evaluate and litigate real estate documents and transaction-related disputes
- Represent clients in mediation, negotiation, and court
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and support staff
- Mentor junior team members and move into team leadership over time
Requirements:
- J.D. and active membership in the California Bar
- 5+ years of civil litigation experience with multiple trials
- 3+ years specifically handling real estate litigation
- Strong discovery, deposition, and courtroom advocacy skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a structured team model
- Interest in leadership and training junior staff
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range $150,000-$225,000, depending on experience
- Performance-based bonuses
