Labor & Employment Counsel
A reputable manufacturing company is seeking a Labor and Employment Counsel to join their legal team. This role will provide legal guidance and support on all labor and employment matters across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Advisory: Provide legal counsel on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including hiring practices, wage and hour compliance, workplace policies, employee relations, and terminations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, NLRA, OSHA).
- Policy Development: Draft and review employee handbooks, workplace policies, and training materials to ensure legal compliance and alignment with company values.
- Investigations: Conduct and oversee internal investigations related to employee complaints, harassment, discrimination, and other workplace issues.
- Litigation Management: Manage employment-related litigation and administrative proceedings, including EEOC charges and labor board hearings, in coordination with outside counsel.
- Training & Education: Provide training to HR and management teams on employment law topics, including anti-discrimination, harassment prevention, and labor relations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR, Operations, and Compliance teams to proactively address workforce issues and support strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 3+ years of legal experience in labor and employment law
- Strong knowledge of U.S. labor and employment laws and regulations.
