Labor and Employment Counsel (Director)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on labor and employment matters.
- Ensure compliance with evolving federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Partner closely with Human Resources and leadership to advise on employee relations, labor relations, workplace investigations, policy development, and accommodation matters.
- Provide guidance on disciplinary actions, leave management, administrative claims, and other employment-related issues.
- Manage employment-related litigation and oversee outside counsel.
- Advise on healthcare regulatory matters and compliance initiatives.
- Support labor relations activities, including matters involving unionized workforces.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of legal experience.
- Demonstrated experience handling labor and employment matters in a unionized environment.
- Strong negotiation, collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to obtain Wisconsin bar licensure within 12 months of hire.
