IP Litigation Counsel
Our client is seeking to hire a IP Litigation Counsel with strong communication skills and the ability to explain, clarify, and simplify complex technical information. This person will work closely with other legal team members and collaborate with internal stakeholders across the business to provide legal guidance on all aspects of intellectual property litigation and administrative proceedings.
Locations: Seattle, WA & Silicon Valley, CA
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage all aspects and phases of litigation, including preliminary investigation, data collection, research, discovery, pretrial, and trial work.
- Lead proceedings involving the USPTO/PTAB and ITC.
- Advise and work with technical teams and outside counsel on claim construction, validity/infringement, and invalidity/non‑infringement analyses.
- Assist with filing IPRs, PGRs, and/or EPRs.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and legal teams to develop and execute case strategies.
- Draft pleadings, petitions, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case and docket information.
- Oversee all aspects of discovery and prepare witnesses and experts for deposition.
- Advise on patent portfolio management.
- Coordinate with outside counsel, witnesses, and experts on key matters.
- Manage legal spend and litigation budgets.
Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office is a plus.
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering is a plus.
- 4-6 years of experience at a law firm and/or in‑house legal department.
- Significant experience litigating intellectual property matters.
