Energy Contracts Attorney
A client in the energy sector is seeking 3-4 years of experience to join its Energy, Infrastructure, and Project Finance team. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in the energy industry, gained in a nationally recognized law firm or a comparable in‑house counsel position.
About the Team
The client's Energy, Infrastructure and Project Finance group is a nationally respected practice representing some of the most innovative players in the energy industry-utilities, pipeline operators, municipalities, independent power producers, commercial lenders, equity/tax investors, EPC contractors, and emerging energy technology companies.
You'll work with an experienced team of over 100+ professionals handling high‑impact work across the energy industry.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to take on substantive responsibility and direct client interaction in a growing, dynamic practice. The work involves a mix of regulatory, transactional, and project development matters, with a strong emphasis on the renewable energy sector.
Ideal Candidates Will Have Experience With:
Revenue & Offtake Contracts
- Drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements (PPAs)
- Drafting and negotiating power sale agreements
- Working with other common revenue contracts for electricity generation and storage projects
Project Development Agreements
- Drafting and negotiation of supply, construction, operations, interconnection, and co‑tenancy agreements
- Experience with agreements for electricity generation and storage facilities
Transactional Due Diligence
- Conducting due diligence involving the above agreements in complex transactions
- Experience representing buyers, sellers, or financing parties (debt or equity)
