Employment Counsel

Employment Law Counsel | Fully Remote Anywhere in the U.S. | 1,500 Billable Hours

What if you could stay in sophisticated private practice without structuring your life around it? I'm partnering with a leading Global law firm that is hiring experienced employment attorneys for a unique Counsel opportunity focused on EEOC and administrative agency charges.
This is not the traditional BigLaw lifestyle. The position was designed for experienced attorneys who want to continue doing substantive employment law work for sophisticated clients, while gaining back a meaningful amount of control over their time.

Why this opportunity genuinely stands out

  • Fully remote anywhere in the United States (must be barred in the state you reside)
  • Only 1,500 billable hours
  • No business development requirement
  • No required business travel
  • $140,000-$175,000 base salary, depending on experience and education
  • Eligibility for a performance-based bonus
  • Sophisticated management-side employment work
  • Direct ownership of administrative agency charges and demand letters
  • Technology-forward practice utilizing data-driven workflows and emerging AI tools

The Work

Rather than carrying a traditional litigation docket, you'll focus your practice on administrative agency charges and attorney demand letters, including:
  • Drafting persuasive position statements
  • Responding to EEOC and state agency requests for information
  • Managing matters from initial investigation through resolution
  • Participating in settlement negotiations and remote mediations
  • Working directly with clients and administrative agencies
You get to remain an employment lawyer and continue doing substantive work, without the traditional pressures around origination, constant travel and an 1,800-2,000+ hour billable expectation.

Who should consider this?

This could be particularly compelling if you are:
  • A senior associate who wants better balance but isn't ready to go in-house.
  • A former or current partner who still enjoys practicing law but wants to step away from the business-development and management pressures that come with partnership.
  • An experienced employment attorney who enjoys writing, strategy, investigations and agency work more than traditional litigation and trial work.
  • An attorney who has built a successful private-practice career but is ready for the next chapter to look a little different.
  • You must have 6+ years of management-side law firm, employment litigation experience, with meaningful exposure to EEOC and/or state administrative agency charges.
