Overview
A senior compliance leader responsible for securing and maintaining the firm's Hong Kong MSO license and overseeing AML/CTF/PF compliance across APAC. This role serves as the statutory MLRO, leads regulatory engagement, and sets local compliance standards while partnering closely with global teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all interactions with the Hong Kong regulator for the MSO license application, including Fit & Proper assessments, interviews, and inspections.
- Serve as the registered MLRO and Compliance Officer, fulfilling all statutory obligations under AMLO.
- Build and maintain AML/CTF/PF risk assessments, policies, and procedures for Hong Kong.
- Complete (or have previously completed) the required Competence Assessment for MSOs.
- Advise global teams on regulatory developments across Hong Kong and APAC.
- Promote a strong compliance culture and deliver ongoing training.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in financial crime compliance, including 3+ years in an MLRO/DMLRO or similar leadership role.
- Deep experience with AML/CTF/PF and Hong Kong AMLO/MSO regulatory requirements.
- Relevant certification (e.g., CAMS, AAMLP).
- Experience managing MSO licensing or renewals strongly preferred.
- Self-driven, resilient, and comfortable working independently with international teams.
- Fluent in Cantonese and English; Mandarin is a plus.
