Deputy General Counsel - Elite Real Estate Firm
We are currently partnered with a national leader in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit industry that is looking to bring on a Deputy General Counsel to join their dynamic Legal team in Boston, MA. This firm provides innovative capital solutions for affordable housing developers and manages the largest syndicated Low-Income Housing Tax Credit portfolio here in the US. They have an incredible backing, have become one of the largest players in the LIHTC sector, and are only continuing to grow.
This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who is looking to manage a built out and established Legal team and deliver a wide range of services to support their LIHTC portfolio. The DGC will also have the opportunity to work highly cross-functionally, collaborating with various stakeholders both internall and externally.
Responsibilities:
- Drafts, review, and maintain a wide range of due diligence, transaction, and other documents
- Prepare and negotiate a variety of real estate transactional documents
- Provide assessments regarding LIHTC and a variety of compliance, risk, and liability matters
- Manage and mentor the firm's Legal department
- Interpret a variety of invesment related documentation
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree and admission to the bar of at least one state in the US
- 9+ years of experience in a large law firm
- Experience representing both national and regional developers and lenders of multifamily housing developments
- Experience in interpreting equity investments in affordable housing developments
- Effective problem solving skills and proven management abilities
