Corporate Counsel
A privately held real estate organization is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its legal team. The company owns and manages a diverse commercial real estate portfolio and is seeking an attorney with strong commercial leasing and transactional experience. This role offers broad exposure across commercial leasing, contracts, legal operations, and real estate matters while working within a collaborative in-house environment.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases for office, retail, industrial, shopping center, and mixed-use properties.
- Negotiate related leasing documents, including amendments, estoppels, guaranties, SNDAs, and work letters.
- Review title commitments, surveys, easements, zoning matters, and other real estate due diligence materials.
- Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, consulting, service, and other commercial agreements.
- Provide practical legal guidance to leasing, property management, operations, and executive leadership teams.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation, disputes, and other legal matters.
- Support contract lifecycle management initiatives and legal operations processes.
- Assist in developing contract templates, playbooks, and standardized documentation.
- Advise on risk management, compliance, and day-to-day operational issues.
Qualifications
- J.D. and active Florida Bar membership.
- Minimum 5 years of legal experience.
- Significant commercial real estate leasing experience.
- Experience drafting and negotiating vendor and service agreements.
- Exposure to title review, surveys, zoning matters, and real estate due diligence.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management systems and legal process improvements is a plus.
- In-house experience supporting a real estate owner, developer, investor, or property management company is preferred.
