Corporate Counsel - Leading Global Bank

Corporate Counsel

New York, NY | Hybrid Schedule | Exceptional Work-Life Balance

A leading international financial institution is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its U.S. legal team. This is a unique opportunity to support a sophisticated global banking platform at the intersection of trade finance, working capital solutions, cash management, and structured finance.

Unlike many in-house banking legal roles that are heavily focused on regulatory or governance matters, this position sits directly alongside revenue-generating business units and provides meaningful exposure to complex domestic and cross-border transactions that support multinational corporates and financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate receivables purchase facilities, invoice discounting arrangements, supply chain finance programs, letters of credit, reimbursement agreements, and other trade finance documentation
  • Support distribution and syndication transactions, including participation agreements and related transaction documents
  • Advise the business on a wide range of cash management products, including account agreements, control agreements, pledged account structures, liquidity solutions, and treasury management arrangements
  • Support securitization and structured finance transactions, including facilities backed by receivables and other asset classes
  • Partner directly with front-office professionals on transaction structuring, execution, and risk management matters
  • Provide day-to-day legal guidance on complex cross-border transactions and financing activities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia

Ideal Background

  • 4+ years of legal experience at a top law firm or leading financial institution
  • Experience with trade finance, structured finance, asset-based lending, receivables finance, corporate lending, warehouse lending, or cash management products
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and transaction management skills
  • Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Interest in developing deep expertise within a highly specialized and growing area of financial services

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Join a highly respected international financial institution with a significant global presence
  • Work on sophisticated, cross-border transactions supporting multinational clients
  • Gain exposure to a unique blend of trade finance, treasury management, securitization, and structured lending matters
  • Partner directly with experienced business leaders and front-office teams
  • Broad transaction exposure without the unpredictability often associated with private practice

Lifestyle & Culture

This role offers the rare combination of sophisticated banking transactions and a sustainable lifestyle. The legal team is known for its collaborative culture, manageable workflow, and genuine commitment to work-life balance.

  • Hybrid work environment
  • Predictable business-hours schedule, typically a true 9-5 Schedule
  • Limited weekend work and minimal fire-drill culture
  • Strong emphasis on teamwork, professional development, and long-term career growth

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to leave the billable hour model behind while continuing to work on complex, high-profile transactions within a premier global financial institution.
