A premier international law firm is seeking an experienced Conflicts Attorney to join its New Business Intake team. This full-time, fully remote role is ideal for candidates based on the West Coast or those able to work West Coast business hours.

This position is best suited for professionals with direct law firm conflicts experience, including analyzing conflict reports, applying ethical rules, coordinating resolutions, and collaborating with Risk Management or General Counsel teams.

Overview

In this high-impact role, you will evaluate and resolve potential conflicts related to new business intake, lateral hires, and RFPs, working closely with attorneys and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with ethical and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex conflict reports and independently identify potential conflict of interest issues
  • Research applicable jurisdictional ethics rules and opinions to guide conflict resolution strategies
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to gather relevant information
  • Prepare clear, concise communications outlining risks and recommended resolutions
  • Draft conflict waivers and consent letters in compliance with legal and ethical standards
  • Request and maintain documentation required to resolve conflicts
  • Assist with client guidelines related to conflicts, confidentiality, and professional responsibility
  • Implement and maintain ethical walls
  • Support development and refinement of conflicts policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to New Business Intake Analysts
  • Assist in training intake and administrative staff
  • Maintain awareness of evolving ethics rules and best practices
  • Coordinate updates to the conflicts database to ensure accuracy
  • Respond promptly to conflicts-related inquiries
  • Handle all sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality

Qualifications

  • JD and active bar admission
  • 2+ years of hands-on conflicts analysis experience in a law firm environment required (e.g., Conflicts Attorney, Conflicts Analyst, Risk Management, or Professional Responsibility roles)
  • Strong understanding of legal conflicts rules and ethical obligations
  • Experience working with conflicts/database systems
  • Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
