The Practice
The Business Restructuring & Insolvency group is consistently ranked at the top of leading legal directories and publications and is trusted by major stakeholders in the most consequential matters involving corporate distress. The team advises across the full lifecycle of restructurings, including:
- Large, complex Chapter 11 cases
- Out-of-court restructurings and special situations
- Liability management transactions
- Debtor, creditor, sponsor, and investor representations
Associates are exposed early to meaningful responsibility, strategic decision-making, and direct client interaction.
The Ideal Candidate
You are a strong performer with 4 - 6 years of experience in restructuring, bankruptcy, or special situations at a leading law firm. You bring both technical excellence and commercial sophistication.
You have:
- Experience handling large-scale Chapter 11 and/or complex out-of-court restructurings
- A solid command of restructuring principles and bankruptcy law
- Exposure to transactional components of restructurings, including:
- Plan negotiations
- DIP and exit financing
- Asset sales
- Restructuring support agreements
- Liability management transactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong judgment and the ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters
- Outstanding academic credentials from a top-tier law school
- Active membership in the New York Bar
