Assistant General Counsel

An elite Family Office is in search of an Assistant General Counsel to expand its accomplished legal team. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with executive leadership on high-level legal issues and strategic initiatives across the group's portfolio
- Structure, negotiate, and execute transactions across multiple asset classes, including public securities, syndicated loans, derivatives, real estate, and private market investments (domestic and international)
- Partner with affiliated entities-such as investment funds, lending platforms, and operating businesses-on critical projects
- Provide guidance on regulatory and compliance matters to ensure adherence to evolving standards
- Coordinate with external counsel on sophisticated litigation and oversee top-tier attorneys across specialties such as M&A, securities, corporate governance, tax, employment, bankruptcy, and dispute resolution
- Support complex trust and estate planning strategies, ensuring ongoing alignment with organizational priorities and market opportunities
- Assist in structuring significant philanthropic contributions to leading research institutions
Qualifications
- JD from a top-tier law school within the past 1-3 years (will also consider Spring 2026 graduates)
- 170+ LSAT Score
- Excellent Law School/Undergrad GPA credentials
- Leadership roles in Law Review or similar organizations is ideal
- Strong connection to Texas (education, work experience, or personal ties).
