My client is a global technology and digital infrastructure organization expanding into high‑performance computing, AI cloud services, and large‑scale data center development. Operations span the U.S., Canada, Europe, and key international markets. They are highly committed to building on their existing US coverage and having an important stakeholder on the legal side who can support and help them achieve this.

Role Summary
The US General Counsel serves as the senior legal executive for U.S. operations, advising leadership on regulatory, commercial, and compliance matters across all of their technology platforms including AI infrastructure, data centers, advanced computing, and related technologies. This role combines strategic legal leadership with hands‑on oversight of regulatory, corporate, and operational legal functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead legal strategy for regional AI, data center, and high‑performance computing projects, including contract negotiation and regulatory guidance.
  • Oversee compliance with U.S. export controls, sanctions, and national security‑related regulations.
  • Manage litigation, regulatory inquiries, and disputes with direct outside counsel.
  • Provide legal guidance on employment law matters and U.S. federal/state compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate operational and regulatory risks across North America.
  • Manage corporate governance, entity compliance, and policy development.
  • Build and lead the regional legal team; oversee legal budgets and outside counsel.

Qualifications

  • J.D. and bar admission in the USA
  • 8+ years of legal experience, ideally within technology, semiconductors, data centers, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Expertise in export controls, sanctions, technology regulation
  • Experience supporting major infrastructure or technology‑driven projects.

Strong ability to advise executives and cross‑functional leaders
