Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements
- Advise clients on product, privacy, and day-to-day legal matters
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to efficiently move contracts through review and execution
- Identify legal, business, and operational risks within complex agreements
- Develop and standardize contract review playbooks and legal workflows
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve legal operations and technology platforms
- Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client service
Qualifications
- J.D. and active California Bar membership
- 5-8 years of legal experience supporting technology companies
- Prior in-house experience required; experience as a sole legal counsel or first legal hire strongly preferred
- Strong background in commercial transactions, product counseling, and privacy matters
- Experience building processes, playbooks, or operational frameworks
- Interest in legal technology and AI-enabled legal workflows
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and business-oriented legal judgment
