Key Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements
  • Advise clients on product, privacy, and day-to-day legal matters
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to efficiently move contracts through review and execution
  • Identify legal, business, and operational risks within complex agreements
  • Develop and standardize contract review playbooks and legal workflows
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve legal operations and technology platforms
  • Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client service

Qualifications

  • J.D. and active California Bar membership
  • 5-8 years of legal experience supporting technology companies
  • Prior in-house experience required; experience as a sole legal counsel or first legal hire strongly preferred
  • Strong background in commercial transactions, product counseling, and privacy matters
  • Experience building processes, playbooks, or operational frameworks
  • Interest in legal technology and AI-enabled legal workflows
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and business-oriented legal judgment
