The firm is seeking an Employment Counsel to join its Virtual Office, a fully remote platform designed for experienced employment attorneys who are passionate about practicing labor and employment law while enjoying greater flexibility and work-life balance. Attorneys in this role handle sophisticated employment matters for prominent clients nationwide, working on high-level legal issues without the demands of business development or maintaining a book of business.

This opportunity is ideal for attorneys who want to focus on practicing law, collaborating with respected labor and employment practitioners, and representing employers in meaningful matters while maintaining the flexibility of a remote practice.

Candidates must reside in Texas and be actively licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar. While the position is fully remote, the firm is specifically seeking attorneys who live and practice in Texas.

One of the most appealing aspects of the role is the flexibility to select from multiple billable-hour tracks, allowing attorneys to align their workload and compensation with their personal and professional goals:

• 1,600 hours
• 1,700 hours
• 1,850 hours

This structure provides attorneys with the opportunity to customize their practice while continuing to work on sophisticated employment litigation, administrative charges, and counseling matters for a diverse national client base.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle administrative charges before the EEOC and state agencies.
• Draft and respond to demand letters and pre-litigation matters.
• Manage employment litigation matters in federal and state courts.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and case strategy recommendations.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and paralegals on active matters.
• Advise clients on employment law issues and risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage a steady caseload while working independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar license and in good standing.
• Must currently reside in Texas.
• 5 to 10 years of labor and employment law experience.
• Experience handling EEOC charges, administrative proceedings, and employment-related disputes.
• Strong employment litigation experience in federal and state courts.
• Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment.
• Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
