Legal Counsel - Renewable Energy, Australia
We are working with a fast growing renewable energy firm, based in Sydney and they are looking for a Legal Counsel to support their business. The firm has a deep pipeline of development projects that are set to hit financial close across solar energy, wind energy, and BESS projects. You will also get the opportunity to work closely with the team on projects across Australia and be given the opportunity to work independently across projects to provide legal support and advice.
Key responsibilities of the Legal Counsel:
- Provide legal support across the full project lifecycle of development, financing, construction and O&M
- Draft, review, negotiate contracts including MOUs, NDAs, exclusivity agreements, procurement contracts PPAs, EPC, O&M, and related agreements
- Provide support across LTESAs and REZ projects and support on project financing projects
- Providesupport on compliance including SOCI and FIRB to the business
- Take ownership of matters within current skill set and experience whilst playing a team role in supporting larger or more complex matters, including complex negotiations
Key requirements of the Legal Counsel:
- 4-7 years PQE, qualified in Australia
- Experienced in renewable energy projects, constructions, and infrastructure (front end) in Australia
- Self-motivated and independent worker
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with strong attention to detail
