General Liability Associate
Our client, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a talented General Liability Associate to join its growing litigation team. This position is based in New York City, Long Island, or White Plains and offers a flexible hybrid work schedule.
The Opportunity
The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of litigation experience, with a focus on general liability, insurance defense, premises liability, and personal injury matters. Attorneys in this role will manage complex, high-exposure cases while working closely with experienced litigators and clients across a variety of industries.
Responsibilities
- Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
- Handle all aspects of discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances
- Work collaboratively with partners and senior attorneys on complex litigation matters
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide strategic case updates
- Assist in developing litigation strategy and achieving favorable client outcomes
- Contribute to a team-oriented and client-focused practice
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active admission to the New York Bar
- 3-8 years of litigation experience
- Experience handling general liability, premises liability, personal injury, and insurance defense matters
- Exposure to trucking litigation, transportation matters, or construction/labor law is preferred
- Knowledge of New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241, as well as OSHA-related issues, is a plus
- Strong writing, advocacy, and case management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Legal project management experience is a plus
