EPLI Associate
A well-regarded civil litigation defense firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Employment Practices Liability (EPLI) team in Los Angeles, Irvine, or Walnut Creek. This is a full-time, hybrid role offering hands-on litigation experience and a clear path for career growth. Candidates must be based in California.
This position is ideal for attorneys who are proactive, collaborative, and interested in developing a practice focused on employment defense matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an EPLI caseload from intake through resolution
- Draft and argue motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
- Take and defend depositions; attend court appearances
- Represent employers in a range of employment disputes (e.g., discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage & hour)
- Communicate regularly with clients and provide strategic guidance
- Collaborate with team members on litigation strategy
- Assist with settlement negotiations and trial preparation
Qualifications
- JD and active California Bar admission
- 3+ years of litigation experience (employment or EPLI preferred)
- Strong writing, advocacy, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Courtroom experience preferred; trial experience is a plus
Salary range: $135,000 - $225,000, depending on experience.
