Counsel - Real Estate
A renowned Real Estate Management Company is looking to hire a Legal Counsel. This company owns and operates retail centers in the North East and consistently has annual sales in the Billions. With over 5 decades of experience, this company is a leader in the retail space.
Reporting directly into to General Counsel, this position will support the legal team with contract negotiating and review, landlord-tenant issues, and litigation support.
This role is fully on-site in Syracuse, NY HQ.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements
- Handle landlord-tenant issues
- Strategically advise on real estate issues. Work cross functionally and with key stakeholders
- Oversee real estate operations
- Support and manage commercial litigation and insurance defense
- Conduct legal research
- Report directly into GC
- Management paralegal/administrative staff
Requirements:
- JD from ABA accredited law school
- 3+ years of legal experience
- Must be barred in NY
- Experience handling commercial real estate
- Insurance defense experience
- Landlord-tenant issue experience
- Clear communication skills, hard working attitude, and ability to work in fast-paced environment
- 5 days a week on-site in Syracuse, NY
