An established and growing financial services organization in the Atlanta metro area is looking to add an attorney to its legal team to support a broad range of consumer banking and lending activities. This is a highly visible role working cross-functionally with business, compliance, and risk teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support across consumer banking and lending products, including personal loans, deposits, and payment services
- Advise on federal and state consumer protection laws and regulations (e.g., TILA, RESPA, ECOA, UDAAP)
- Partner with business teams on new product development, regulatory interpretation, and day-to-day legal questions
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor and service provider contracts
- Support regulatory exams, internal audits, and ongoing compliance initiatives
- Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks
- Assist with policy development, governance matters, and internal training on legal/regulatory topics
Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in Georgia
- 5+ years of legal experience within consumer banking, lending, or financial services
- Strong knowledge of consumer financial regulations and regulatory frameworks
- Experience working in-house at a financial institution or advising financial services clients in private practice preferred
- Ability to operate as a corporate generalist in a fast-paced, business-facing environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide practical, risk-based advice
