Overview
We are partnered with an international law firm with a strong London presence on the hire of a mid‑level Finance Associate into its transactional finance team.
This is a broad, generalist finance role rather than a narrow product specialism, offering exposure to a wide range of lending and financing matters. It would suit a lawyer looking to take on greater responsibility, develop strong client relationships and build a well‑rounded finance practice within an international environment.
The Role
You will join a collaborative finance team advising lenders and borrowers on UK and cross‑border transactions. The team structure allows for hands‑on involvement throughout the life cycle of deals, with meaningful responsibility, regular client interaction and close partner engagement.
The practice works across multiple sectors and financing types, giving senior associates breadth as well as technical depth.
Responsibilities
- Advising on a wide range of banking and finance transactions
- Acting for banks, funds, alternative lenders and corporate borrowers
- Working on general lending, acquisition finance and real estate finance matters
- Supporting project and infrastructure finance transactions, including energy‑related work
- Assisting on venture debt and asset‑based finance matters
- Contributing to cross‑border financings involving multiple jurisdictions
- Managing discrete aspects of transactions and coordinating with counterparties
- Working directly with clients under partner supervision
Required Qualifications
- England & Wales qualified (or equivalent)
- 4+ years' PQE in banking / finance
- Experience gained at a strong City or international firm
- Technically solid with a practical, commercial approach
- Comfortable taking responsibility for elements of transactions
- Interested in working across a broad range of finance products
