A nationally recognized defense litigation law firm with a long-standing presence across the United States is seeking a Transportation Litigation Attorney to join its Madison New Jersey office. The Transportation Litigation Attorney will handle litigation matters involving transportation, trucking, logistics, and related regulatory issues. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in litigation and an interest in developing deeper expertise within the transportation sector. This role offers exposure to challenging cases, collaboration with experienced attorneys, and the opportunity to deliver practical and strategic legal counsel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently and collaboratively manage a litigation caseload under the supervision of senior attorneys
  • Assist in overseeing cases from inception through resolution
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to transportation laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Attend and participate in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and conferences
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies throughout litigation and claims processes
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements, demonstrating sound judgment and advocacy skills
  • Collaborate with colleagues across offices and practice groups to support efficient and consistent case management

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active admission to practice in New Jersey
  • Minimum of 5+ years of general litigation experience
  • Experience with transportation, trucking, logistics, or related regulatory matters preferred
  • Deposition and law-and-motion experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Advanced technical proficiency and familiarity with litigation technology
