Trade Compliance Director
Join a global industrial technology organization and lead trade compliance efforts across a portfolio of highly regulated businesses. This leadership role is responsible for developing and overseeing import/export compliance programs, advising senior leadership, managing trade compliance professionals, and ensuring adherence to global trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enhance global trade compliance programs across multiple business units
- Manage and mentor trade compliance teams, setting priorities and driving performance
- Partner with senior leadership on compliance strategy and risk management
- Serve as the primary liaison with government agencies on import/export matters
- Conduct compliance assessments, audits, and corrective action initiatives
- Support internal investigations, disclosures, and regulatory inquiries
- Assist with M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration activities
- Drive consistency, efficiency, and best practices across trade compliance operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; business, law, international trade, or related field preferred
- 10+ years of experience in international trade compliance
- Deep knowledge of ITAR, EAR, Customs, and global import/export regulations
- Experience managing teams and influencing stakeholders across complex organizations
- Familiarity with non-U.S. export control regimes strongly preferred
- Customs broker license and/or security clearance eligibility are a plus
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- U.S. Person status required
