The Role
Our client is seeking a Patent Attorney to join its in-house legal team. This role reports to senior IP leadership and is ideal for someone who enjoys the core fundamentals of patent law-preparation and prosecution-and wants to focus on hands-on, technical work.
This is a highly execution-focused position, centered on drafting and prosecuting patent applications rather than portfolio strategy or management.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, draft, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications
- Partner closely with engineering teams to understand and protect new innovations
- Assess inventions and provide patentability guidance
- Respond to Office Actions and manage application-level prosecution
- Support the development and growth of the company's IP portfolio
What We're Looking For
- JD from an accredited law school
- USPTO registration (required)
- 2-4 years of patent prosecution experience
- Including experience independently handling applications end-to-end
- Also open to candidates with:
- 0-2 years as an attorney plus prior Patent Agent experience
- Technical background: Open (engineering, physics, etc.)
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Genuine interest in hands-on patent prosecution work (rather than strategy-focused roles)
