About the Role
A Senior Legal Counsel role is available within a global consumer and retail organisation, offering broad exposure across international markets. This position acts as a key legal advisor to the business, supporting global legal strategy and ensuring smooth day-to-day legal operations. The role combines hands-on commercial support with cross-border coordination, enabling business growth while managing legal and regulatory risk in a fast-paced, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive legal support across international markets, excluding mainland China, with a strong focus on commercial and retail operations. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including leasing, franchise, wholesale distribution, vendor, and service contracts. Support international store rollouts, shop-in-shop concepts, and e-commerce operations. Advise marketing and go-to-market teams on advertising, consumer protection, and unfair competition laws. Support GDPR and local data privacy compliance across online and offline channels. Contribute to supply chain, logistics, and ESG compliance, including supplier reviews, risk assessments, and sustainability initiatives. Support trademark portfolio execution, anti-counterfeiting measures, and coordination with external counsel. Provide first-line legal analysis on cross-border regulatory issues and manage external law firms. Drive legal process optimisation through templates, playbooks, SOPs, and internal trainings, while maintaining close collaboration with international legal stakeholders.
Your Profile
Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist) or equivalent international qualification, with 6+ years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or multinational in-house environment. Strong background in commercial contracts, consumer law, advertising compliance, data protection, and supply chain or ESG topics. Experience in retail, consumer goods, apparel, or e-commerce is highly advantageous. Fluent German and English required. Pragmatic, business-oriented mindset with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively in an international matrix organisation.
