Senior Construction Liability Counsel

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Liability Counsel to join our dynamic litigation team. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney with deep expertise in construction law, general liability, and insurance defense, who can independently manage complex cases and provide strategic counsel to clients.

Senior Construction Liability Counsel Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Independently handle a caseload involving construction defect claims, NY Labor Law matters (§§200, 240, 241), premises liability, and general liability litigation.
  • Litigation: Conduct depositions, court appearances, motion practice, and trials as needed.
  • Client Advisory: Provide proactive legal advice to clients on risk management, regulatory compliance, and litigation strategy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with partners and team members on high-stakes cases and contribute to business development initiatives.
  • Mentorship: Guide and support junior attorneys and paralegals in case preparation and strategy.

Senior Construction Liability Counsel Qualifications

  • Education: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Active membership in good standing with a qualified Bar (NY preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 8+ years of litigation experience, with a strong focus on construction and general liability matters.
    • Proven track record as first or second chair in trials preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced understanding of construction law, OSHA regulations, and insurance defense.
    • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple complex cases independently.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary (typically $170,000 - $200,000+, commensurate with experience).
