Senior Associate - Trial & Defense - Los Angeles (Hybrid)

A respected national litigation firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Associate with 6+ years of experience to join its Trial & Defense team in Los Angeles. This position offers the opportunity to represent both public and private entities in high-exposure matters spanning employment disputes, personal injury, commercial litigation, and class actions.

This role is ideal for a proactive, organized litigator who thrives in fast-paced environments and is ready to take on significant responsibility, including depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation. You'll work closely with clients and opposing counsel while developing as a trusted, strategic advisor.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a litigation caseload of approximately 10-20 matters.
  • Conduct factual investigations and develop case strategy.
  • Draft and respond to written discovery.
  • Review, analyze, and prepare documents for production.
  • Conduct legal research utilizing Westlaw.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Draft pleadings and motions; argue motions in court.
  • Prepare pre-trial filings and trial documents.
  • Prepare cases for mediation and trial; participate in both.
  • Provide timely and effective reporting to clients.

Key Qualifications

  • J.D. from a reputable ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar.
  • 6+ years of litigation experience, including depositions, motion practice, and robust case-handling.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Effective oral advocacy skills.
  • Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional communication with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and handle assignments independently.
