About the Role

A well-established, AV-rated civil litigation defense firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney (Associate or Of Counsel) to join its Professional Liability practice. This is a full-time position offering the flexibility to work fully remote or in a hybrid capacity (any california office), along with meaningful litigation experience, client interaction, and a clear path for professional advancement.

This opportunity is ideal for attorneys who are proactive, collaborative, and committed to delivering high-quality legal work. Attorneys will take ownership of cases with support from an experienced litigation team. The firm is open to both mid-level associates (3+ years) and more senior attorneys at the Of Counsel level seeking a leadership-focused role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a litigation caseload from intake through resolution
  • Draft motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and complex briefs
  • Handle matters involving:
    • Architects and engineers
    • Real estate agents and brokers
    • Insurance agents and brokers
    • Accounting malpractice
  • Conduct depositions, court appearances, and argue motions
  • Communicate with clients and provide strategic case updates
  • Collaborate with partners and team members on litigation strategy
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and trial preparation
  • Appear in court or attend in-person proceedings as required
  • (Of Counsel) Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to higher-level case strategy

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
  • Associate: 3+ years of litigation experience
  • Of Counsel: Typically 7+ years of litigation experience with strong case management skills
  • Exceptional legal writing, oral advocacy, and analytical abilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Courtroom experience strongly preferred
  • Trial experience is a plus

  • Salary Range: $130,000 - $225,000 (based on experience and level)
