Real Estate Paralegal
Position Summary:
A reputable automotive retailer is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to join their legal team. This role will support the legal department in managing real estate transactions, lease administration, property acquisitions, and other real estate-related legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing commercial lease agreements, amendments, and renewals.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external counsel on property acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects.
- Maintain and organize real estate files, including title documents, surveys, zoning reports, and environmental assessments.
- Conduct due diligence for real estate transactions, including reviewing title commitments, ALTA surveys, and zoning compliance.
- Track critical lease dates and ensure timely execution of renewals, terminations, and rent adjustments.
- Support legal team in resolving landlord/tenant disputes and property-related litigation.
- Prepare closing binders and manage post-closing documentation.
- Liaise with brokers, landlords, title companies, and municipal agencies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; Paralegal certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate law, preferably in a corporate or retail environment.
- Strong understanding of commercial leasing, title review, and real estate transaction processes.
