Mid-Level Associate - Trusts & Estates
A client with a national presence, is seeking a skilled Trusts & Estates Attorney to join their growing practice. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in estate planning and administration, along with a solid foundation in tax considerations affecting individuals, trusts, and business entities. This role will sit in a hybrid setup in Madison, NJ.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft sophisticated estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and related instruments
- Manage estate administration matters, including interaction with fiduciaries and beneficiaries
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, client communications, and advisory materials
- Advise clients on estate, gift, and related tax implications
- Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas as needed
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- LL.M. in Taxation (completed or in progress) strongly preferred
- Admission to practice in New Jersey required
- Admission in New York and/or Florida is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in estate planning and estate administration
- Demonstrated ability to draft and review complex estate planning documents
Preferred (Not Required) Experience
- Preparation of federal and state gift and estate tax returns
- Understanding of tax issues related to the formation and operation of trusts
- Exposure to corporate or partnership tax matters, especially involving business transactions, mergers, or acquisitions
